ABOUT IRAN

Geographically

Iran is located in west Asia and borders the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Its mountains have helped to shape both the political and economic history of the country for several centuries. With a total area of 1,648,195 KM2, Iran is an 18th largest country in the world and with 79.2 Million inhabitants is the world’s 18th most populous country.

Historically

Iran is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Historically, has been refreshed to as Persia by the west. It has been home to organized urban settlements since at least 4000 BC. At its greatest extent, the Achaemenid Empire included the modern Territories of Iran making it the first-world government and the largest empire of the world. The real founders of this splendor were a model of diplomacy, civility, and human morality. They were mono – Theist before Christianity and Islam. Their words and manners symbolizing humanity, generosity, and liberation of slaves.

The king of ancient Persia

In 539 B.C, The armies of Cyrus the Great, the first king of ancient Persia conquered the city of Babylon. He freed the slaves, declared that people are free to choose their own religion, and established racial equality. These are recorded on a baked clay called “Cyrus Cylinder “and is believed to be the world’s first chart of human rights. There is a theory that mentions the character of Dhul- Qarnayn in Quran is, in fact, Cyrus the Great. This theory has been endorsed by some scholars including Alameh Tabatabai a prominent thinker of philosophy and contemporary Shia Islam.

Climate

Iran’s climate is variable. On the northern part of the country, The Caspian Coastal plain, temperatures rarely fall below freezing. To the west, the Zagros basin severe winters are below Zero with heavy snowfall. The coastal plains of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman in southern Iran have mild winter and very humid and hot summers.
More than half of Iran is covered by mountains. The populous western part is the most mountainous with ranges such as the province and Arasbaran region in Northwest are covered by dense forests called, the jungles of Iran. Wild fruits like pear, sour cherries, figs, hawthorn, oak, barberry, Bane (wild Pistachio) are their product. The eastern part consists mostly of desert basins such as Dasht-e-Kavir and Shahdad (Located at the edge of Lut desert, one of the world hottest places, recently has been recorded by UNESCO.  Lute Zangi Ahmad is one of the highest sandy hills in the world. Jajrood River is the oldest protected region in the world.

The wildlife of Iran is composed of several animal species including Bears, Gazelles, Panthers, Eurasian Lynx and two rare species; Asian panther and Persian Ground- Jay which are endemic to Iran. Mugger crocodile, great bustard, black- Grouse, and Huma (Homa) are rare species of Iran.

Persian carpets, turquoise, of Kaviar, Saffronn, Pistachio and rice are well-known in the world and main exports of Iran. Turquoise of Neyshabur, and natural Persian Gulf pearls are among the most precious stones of earth travel expense for tourist including hotels, food, transport, tickets for tourist including Hotels, Food, transport, and tickets for tourist sites and are cheaper than most Middle East and European countries. The Iranian government has been making concerted efforts to attract tourists to the various destinations in the country. OVERVIEW

The supreme leader “Imam Ali Khamenei” is the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The official religion is Shia Islam. Other recognized religions are Sunni Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism. The official language is Farsi (Persian) and currency is Rial (IRR). Iran has the second largest proved gas reserves in the world after Russia. It also ranks fourth in oil reserves. Iran is a country with high potential in the tourism industry. The landscape of Iran is diverse, providing a range of activities from Hiking and Skiing in the Alborz mountains, to beach holidays by the Persian Gulf and The Caspian Sea.
